I am the Special Education Reading Teacher at Powhatan Elementary School. I’ve been teaching reading (Cumberland Elementary, Riverside, Henrico Public Schools) since 1997. Before becoming a teacher I was a lawyer. Before I was a lawyer, I was in college (Bowling Green), graduate school (University of Virginia) and law school (Georgetown) for a very long time.

Wow, you decided to teach instead of practicing law! This is an excellent blog with many interesting links that I am sure I will find useful in my classroom.
Well the world needs teachers more than it needs lawyers. I’m glad you found things you like here.
This is a great site with tons of great informtion. Your students are indeed fortunate that you have gone into teaching. My guess is that teaching is much more rewarding than working as a lawyer. I have a friend that did his law degree at U.Va. and worked in to field for only about two years before he found that being a corporate lawyer was not his bag.
You have done a ton of work for this site and it shows in the value of the material you have included. I intend to follow the site if you will let me as I find the info and links you have included to be very valuable.
Thanks
z…
